Are you ready to play house hunters with the Reese family? Let's set the sceneâŚ..Jessica was seven months pregnant with Carter when she, Derek and Tucker (their toddler) decided it was time to move. They had put a tremendous amount of sweat equity into their first home, renovating the kitchen, bathroom & lower level, lots of paint and trim work, improving the landscape and yard. Janell, Jessica and Derek met, put together a staging plan, and established a market price. In just a few short weeks, they had completed all of their staging prep, the professional photos were taken and and it was "go" time...the house was on the market!
The objective was clear, we needed to sell this house for the most amount of money in the shortest amount of time. We couldn't let Jessica's fears of maintaining a house on the market while seven months pregnant and working full time with a toddler come to fruition! With that directive, Janell Stuckwisch Group jumped into action!
Within hours, we had multiple offers and an accepted contract. And then the buyers changed their minds. We were back in action⌠Calling previous buyers agents, reactivating the marketing plan and we were back under contract within 24 hours!
Our newest buyer needed a delayed closing which put us precariously close to Jessica's due date. We closed at the title agency and not at the hospital, thankfully! In the meantime, Derek and Jessica secured temporary housing so that we would not be negotiating a contract on a new home from the labor and delivery room.
Contingency and backup plans are ALWAYS a good idea!
We looked at several homes (we wonât show you all of them!). Sometimes dropping everything we were doing to go see them immediately as they hit the market. Some werenât a fit, some we lost out to multiple offers, some were just not âthe oneâ.
At one point, Jessica sent Janell a text that read: âI really need a place to call home and put our feet upâ. With a great deal of patience, a good dose of "are you kidding me?" and an extraordinary amount of laughter, we worked together to achieve the goal!
And Carter, pictured here, was a trooper throughout the search processâ¤ď¸

"Janell has made us feel so taken care of through the selling and buying process. No call, text, email, or request went unanswered and she was always so well prepared and thorough. She raised the bar so high that I truly canât imagine us ever using anyone else. Her team is the best, and we cannot recommend them enough. If youâre even thinking of buying or selling, I recommend your first step be to call Janell!"
This is Carter today. He's so cute, we had to add a "now" photo to the story! His brother, Tucker, chose to stay with Grandma & Grandpa during most of our home viewings, but he made it to the closing walk-through (pictured below)
Jessica, Derek, Tucker & Carter, we wish you so many happy new memories in your new home!
